There are few bands that sound quite as punk rock AND Irish as the Dropkick Murphys but they are definitely one of the best. The band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1996 as just a bunch of friends having fun in the basement of a barbershop. Musically, the band attempts to combine punk rock, Irish folk, rock, and hardcore and they do a damn good job of it. Unexpectedly the band was well liked and released a slew of singles, albums and was able to tour over a good part of the globe.
According to the band's website, "the bands' main goal is to play music that creates an all for one, one for all environment where everyone is encouraged to participate, sing along, and hopefully have a good time."
